Subject: Low End
Anyways, there's a lot to puzzle over and admire in equal measure from the '90 MSG run, with Bruce and Vince to the rescue...set 1 starts off incredibly well, and how can you not love a H>S>F to end the set - check out how furious the band sounds on Slipknot - Phil especially...
Set 2 - beautiful. That big pre-drums pull, with Let it Grow dissolving into an absolutely gorgeous jam between what sounds like Bruce and Jerry is to treasure. Post-Space doesn't slouch - Stella is a rose opening right up and A&A doesn't quite end when it could - though the band had long ceased to try and double-time that ending, they drew this one out a bit when Bruce played with them.
Forget about the chopped-up Road Trips release - you're going to want to hear the full arc of this show.

Subject: Thank you!
Subject: Great AUD, solid performance.
The show is solid. Only Let It Grow> Jam stand out. The rest is real good, but not worth much comment.

Subject: Great show great setlist II
Subject: Great show. Great setlist
- Playin Reprise is actually included in the Ship of Fools track.
- The track labeled "Playin Reprise" is actually UJB.
- The track labeled "Uncle John's Band" is actually Let it Grow
- The track labeled "Let it Grow" is actually "Jam."
and so on...
Still, great show. Jerry's voice is a little haggard, but his playing is top-notch for the era. Incredible setlist, with a second set LIG. Nice!
Subject: I love this one
Subject: Great sounding Audience
Subject: Sounds great
The Let it Grow is sensational, and the melodic interplay between Hornsby and Garcia that follows is very delicate and inventive. They seem to come close to breaking into "Dear Prudence" towards the end of the jam. GDTRFB is great too.
A GREAT audience recording, download it right away.
Subject: Oh Man
Subject: This was a good surprise
First, the opener is hot. Warts and all, both the band and the audience, and Bruce Hornsby, are clearly having fun playing and singing Jack Straw.
Secondly, the Playing> Ship of Fools>Space>Uncle Johns> Playing> Let it Grow> Trio is really something that busts out of the normal Grateful Dead pattern. Its a good lineup of songs, not the best but very well played and fun to hear.
Thirdly, the space jam out of Let It Grow. This is some of the best stuff the Grateful Dead ever did. Stuff like this, if only for for a few minutes, is pure heaven...and no one else can do it like them. After 15 years of the Dead, I love "discovering" moments like this. You can clearly hear a new band member, Bruce Hornsby, playing musical gotcha with Jerry Garcia. Its fabulous.
Thank you Archive for hosting this.

If you don't get it by the time you arrive at the GDTRFB in this show, you never will. What a great second set and close out to this show. The energy of the GDTRFB coupled to the delicate rendering of the Stella causes major goosebumps.
I'm stuck at work tonight on christmas eve and this show just put a huge smile on my face. Thanks Jerry. Thanks to the tapers and thanks to the guys that put this out on archive.
